What the labeling on packages of Hydroxycut products did not tell you was that use could cause serious liver, kidney, heart, and other health issues. When 23 reports of Hydroxycut liver damage reached the FDA, it forced the company to recall the products and suggested folk to quit using them.

Lawsuits are being filed against the pharmaceutical company Iovate Medical Sciences because of a number of cases of liver damage and one death that are being linked to the application of the diet aid Hydroxycut. The drug was recalled by the FDA in May, 2009 and is no longer recommended for use. Since the FDA does not officially control diet products like Hydroxycut, it’s unknown what quantity of people may really be suffering severe side effects from using the drug. With as many as 9,000,000 doses of the drug having been sold annually over the last decade, there could probably be a lot of victims who have never reported their problems.
